Make Money Using the Amazon Affiliate Program

You may or may not have heard about "affiliate programs." If you have, you might have wondered what they are and how they work? Let me try and explain what they actually are and how they can generate money for you.

Basically, an affiliate program (like Amazon) works like this. If you have a website or a blog or you write articles on HubPages, you can apply to be an Amazon affiliate. Once your account is approved by Amazon, you can display Amazon ads on your site/blog/hubpages, about various products that they offer on their website. If a visitor who visits your site/blog/HubPages clicks on one of these banners or links and makes a purchase on Amazon, you get paid a percentage of the price of the product. Usually, its around 4% of the value of the item sold. Obviously, the higher the price of the product, the greater your share. Its a good idea therefore to choose to display highly-priced, popular products on your HubPages, sites or blogs.

If you don't have a site or blog, you can choose to apply for Amazon through your HubPages account. Joining HubPages is free and there is no cost to you. You can view a sample HubPage here. (http://hubpages.com/_24k8o283wulxl/hub/What-will-the-world-be-like-in-100-years-). You can then apply for Amazon and choose products to display alongside articles that you write on HubPages. As with all affiliate programs, you need to drive as much traffic to your blog/site/HubPages as possible to maximize your earnings. There are a lots of Hubs on HubPages that give a step-by-step approach to applying for the Amazon Affiliate Program once you've signed up for a HubPages account.
